Selection of vertical fire pump



1) Ordinary fire pump

Working condition 1: At the suction depth of 1m, it shall meet the requirements of rated flow rate (Qn) and rated pressure (Pn), and the working pressure shall not exceed 1.05 times of the rated pressure.

Working condition 2: At the suction depth of 1m, the flow rate is 1.5qn and the working pressure should not be less than 0.65pn.

2) Structural requirements, corrosion resistance, mechanical properties, continuous operation and other properties shall meet the requirements of GB6245-2006 standard.

3), the pump group used by the pump should be finalized appraisal and type test and meet the relevant standards.
The chosen prime mover should be identified and conform to the relevant standards.
The engine should have good starting performance at room temperature and should be started smoothly within 5s.
The fire pump should be able to reach the rated working condition within 20s after water is introduced.

4) The pump impeller is flexible in rotation and has no stuck resistance.

5) The designer shall select and determine the type of fire pump according to the location and area of the fire pump room in the project and the specific situation of the fire water supply system.

6) The flow rate and pressure of the fire pump shall be calculated and determined according to the requirements of the fire water quantity and water pressure of the building (or factory area, residential area), storage yard, storage tank, etc.
Fire pump should meet the requirements of fire water pressure and flow.
The flow and head of the pump should not be lower than the design requirements, nor lower than the performance curve.

7) The fire pump in the temporary high-pressure fire water supply system shall be equipped with one standby and one standby, or one multi-purpose standby.
The working capacity of the standby fire pump shall not be less than that of one large fire pump.
Multi-purpose one backup, should consider the impact of multiple fire pump parallel work, on the system flow and pressure.

8) When selecting the fire pump, the characteristic curve of its flow ~ pressure (Q ~ P) should be flat without hump.
Tangent pump or pump valve can be used when conditions permit.
